As many irreplaceable seeds near extinction, SEED reveals the harrowing and heartening story of passionate seed keepers as they wage a David and Goliath battle against chemical seed companies, defending a 12,000 year food legacy. Following the movie, there will be a panel discussion about heirloom seeds and sustainable farming taking place right here in Cary. Proceeds from this screening will benefit Good Hope Farm (www.goodhopefarm.org), a 29 acre urban farm partnership project with Piedmont Conservation Council, The Conservation Fund, NC Community Development Initiative, Conservation Trust for NC and the Town of Cary that is preserving farmland, opening opportunities to the next generation of farmers, and engaging the community around agriculture and healthy food.
La Farm Bakery will provide a free loaf of bread to the first 100 attendees.
Will call tickets may be picked up at The Cary Box Office beginning one hour prior to the movie.
