Introducing Virtual Cinema

View exclusive new release arthouse films not available on household streaming platforms.

The Cary’s new initiative enables you to view — at home — newly released films that we’d otherwise be playing on the big screen. Films that are not yet available on more traditional digital platforms.

Buying a virtual ticket supports community arthouse cinema. Watch award-winning international films, acclaimed documentaries, and restored classics. We’ve partnered with Kino Marquee, and each ticket creates a five-day pass for your family to watch the film. Supporting The Cary just as if you bought your ticket at our box office!

Based on the true story of a young English woman and a German prisoner of war, who together overcome prejudice, public hostility and personal tragedy.

Why We’re Launching Virtual Cinema

Arthouse theaters across the country have remained closed for much of the year. To adapt to this new reality, distributors have made available their latest films in a streaming platform for exclusive access to our patrons.

This allows The Cary staff to work with distributors and filmmakers to create ways to have their films shown to you. We’ve curated select films available exclusively to arthouse theaters. We’ll make new releases available to you on an ongoing basis as we foster this online cinema program. Here’s a running list of Frequently Asked Questions that may be helpful.

We believe that by providing safe access to unique, outstanding cinema we can provide a respite for you, our patrons. We hope to be back together with you in-person soon. In the meantime, join us for The Cary Theater’s Virtual Cinema!
