“How NOT to Write a Screenplay”

Formatting your screenplay is both a necessity and an art. In this 90-minute crash course you will learn the thought process behind formatting conventions. As the title says– You will also learn what NOT to do, so you can avoid the common mistakes that make work seem amateurish.

Instructor: Ron S. Thompson

Ron Stacker Thompson wrote and produced diverse films throughout his careers, a few such as A Rage in Harlem, Deep Cover, Sister Act 2, Hoodlum, and the highly acclaimed HBO Special “America’s Dream” which was nominated for nine Cable Ace Awards. Thompson won 2 Best Writing and Best Producing of a Dramatic Series or Special awards, as well as the prestigious N.A.A.C.P Image Award for Best Television Movie or Mini-Series. Thompson is also the Professor Emeritus at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he was chair of the Screenwriting Department in the School of Filmmaking.
