International recording artist, vocalist and cellist Shana Tucker performs live in concert with The Christian Tamburr Trio (Christian Tamburr on piano/vibes, Matthew Rybicki on bass, Kobie Watkins on drums).

Shana is an extraordinary vocalist and musical storyteller who will take you on a journey of iconic female jazz singers while offering historical insight about glorious trailblazers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Sarah Vaughan.

A sought-after collaborator, Shana performs and records with legendary jazz saxophonist/composer Bennie Maupin, jazz flutist/composer Nicole Mitchell, and Grammy-nominated NuSoul collective The Foreign Exchange. Recent composition collaborations include They Are All, a structured improvisational performance presented at American Dance Festival with Culture Mill’s Murielle Elizeon and Tommy Noonan, and Continuing To Tell, a multidisciplinary public space performance by Proxemic Media highlighting the history of Civil Rights in Durham, N.C. Her cello performance credits include Overland, The History of White People in America, American Masters: Decoding Watson and Paul Robeson: Here I Stand on pbs.org. 

Christian Tamburr is a world-renowned composer, arranger, pianist and concert producer with performances in over 75 countries around the world. He has performed alongside many legendary jazz artists such as Dave Brubeck, Milt Hinton, James Moody, Dave Koz, Arturo Sandoval, Kenny Barron and Clark Terry, among others. As musical director, Christian has worked for Julio Iglesias, Penn and Teller, Cirque du Soleil, actress Julia Roberts, and NBA legend Micheal Jordan.
