The Nature of Oaks

Duration: 90 min, No intermission

Trees for the Triangle is proud to collaborate with the Town of Cary to host the second annual Cary Environmental Symposium.

Doug Tallamy is a professor in the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware. The Nature of Oaks reveals what is going on in oak trees month by month, highlighting the seasonal cycles of life, death, and renewal. From woodpeckers who collect and store hundreds of acorns for sustenance to the beauty of jewel caterpillars, Tallamy illuminates and celebrates the wonders that occur right in our own yards and restorations.

Trees for the Triangle, a North Carolina non-profit corporation, envisions a future in which the Triangle is a strong, interconnected network of native trees, biodiverse urban forests, and prosperous ecosystems that sustain thriving human communities. Its mission is to improve the ecological and social resilience of the Triangle through the planting of trees.
