Join WUNC’s narrative journalism show “The Broadside” for a special live storytelling event exploring the unsung history and present-day experiences of Asian Americans in North Carolina.
Hosted by Anisa Khalifa, this 90-minute seated program blends reported journalism, live narration, and performance art to bring powerful local stories to life. The evening will feature two reported storytelling segments and a live performance piece spanning North Carolina’s Asian American history from the early 20th century to today.
The program also includes an interactive audience component, inviting reflection and shared community storytelling. This event is ideal for anyone interested in history, culture, journalism, and meaningful community connection.
