Rotary Night: Alzheimer’s Lecture

Cary Central & Cary-Kildaire Rotary Clubs present An Evening at The Cary Theater Celebrating C.A.R.T Week  (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust)   Special Presentation: “Alzheimer’s: The Status of a Cure and What You Can Do to Protect Yourself” Lorenzo Mejia is a Qualified Dementia Care Specialist, the highest designation award by the Dementia Care Professionals of America.  In 2014, the Alzheimer’s Foundation named him the Dementia Care Professional of the year.  He was only one of two people nationally to receive this award.  He is a board member of the Orange County Department of Aging, a proud member of the East Chapel Hill Rotary Club and the owner of Acorn, a company providing in-home caregivers to aid the elderly and others needing assistance.  Lorenzo’s presentation will cover the differences between dementia and Alzheimer’s, plus the status of the cure and the steps you can take to reduce your risk for developing this disease. Cash bar will open at 6:00 p.m. for snacks, beverages, and socializing **No cost for admission; attendees will have the opportunity to contribute to C.A.R.T.
