The Triangle Filmmaking Community is joining with The Cary to present the Motion for Pictures Screening Series.
Longer short films don’t get a lot of love, but MOTION FOR PICTURES is going to change that with a double feature event. The evening’s award-winning lineup begins with a surreal black and white anthology from right here in the Carolinas and ends with a quirky Swedish heist flick.
UNBECOMING (dir, Chris White)
A retired U.S. senator with a dark secret, an in-school suspension teacher and his captive audience of one, two lost soulsβ unlikely meeting at a roadside diner, the stomach-churning memory of True Love lost, and a fatherβs last will and testament passed on via workshop mix tape feature in this 5-film, comic anthology on the nature of personal devolution and changeβwith a decidedly Southern gothic twist.
MOUSSE (dir. John Hellberg)
What could be easier than robbing a small bookie place on the outskirts of town? Itβs during the yearβs biggest horse race event and the betting center Washingtonβs Tobacco looks like the ultimate hit for some fast cash. Mousse is a man of pride and principles and is fed up with living as a second-class citizen. But what happens when he faces principles different to his own?
The show starts at 7pm, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.
