Roberta Flack and Al Jarreau are two of the most loved and respected musical artists of their generation. Al almost single handedly created a bridge between Vocal Jazz and R&B. His album Breakin’ Away spent two years on the Billboard 200 and is considered one of the finest examples of the Los Angeles pop and R&B sound. Roberta Flack is also noted for her influence on the subgenre of contemporary R&B called quiet storm. Flack was the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year for two consecutive years. “The First Time Ever I Heard Your Voice” will celebrate their amazing contributions to American Music and the inspiration they have provided. From Roberta’s “Killing Me Softly”, “The Closer I Get To You”, and “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”, to Al’s joyful “Roof Garden”, “Get Your Boogie Down”, and “After All”, the evening will be filled with great songs, great music, and great performances.

Clint Holmes:
Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Clint Holmes is a consummate entertainer, writer, performer, recording artist, and one of the country’s finest vocalists. Clint’s 1974 hit “Playground In My Mind” topped the charts with over 4 million albums sold, providing for a lifetime career performing around the world.

Niki Haris:
Niki Haris is best known as “The BIG VOICE” behind Madonna for over 18 years and vocal collaborations with jazz greats like Stanley Turrentine, Joe Sample and the Jazz Crusaders to recordings with Ray Charles, Mick Jagger, Whitney Houston, Sheryl Crow, and many others.

Christian Tamburr: 
Christian Tamburr is producer and curator of the Legacy of Jazz Series. He has toured the world visiting over 76 countries performing as musical director with Julio Iglesias, Cirque du Soleil and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
