The Cary Theater is celebrating Black History Month highlighting “Unsung Titans of the 70’s & 80’s,” African American performing artists that have made contributions to the diversity of Hollywood productions. Hollywood Shuffle features unsung titan, Robert Townsend.

In the style of KENTUCKY FRIED MOVIE, writer-director Robert Townsend lampoons Hollywood’s perception of blacks–and racial stereotypes in general.

An actor limited to stereotypical roles because of his ethnicity, dreams of making it big as a highly respected performer. As he makes his rounds, the film takes a satiric look at African American actors in Hollywood.
