In light of COVID-19, BEYOND: The Cary Film Festival will look very different this year. Our aim is to bring the latest and greatest short films to your living room. Because so many film festivals have pivoted to digital extravaganzas, there’s new opportunity to connect with audiences, inviting people to “attend” who might not have had the chance otherwise.
And with the support from filmmakers, sponsors, special guests, BEYOND will screen virtually over four days, Sept. 24-27. This year we received a record number of entries for its third year and selected 31 short films for festival competition. We are grateful to our generous sponsors: InkTip, Cary Citizen, Cary Magazine, Digital P, and MISNER. This year, all screenings and filmmaking workshops can be accessed online at no cost through the festival website www.beyondthefilmfestival.com.
- Registration for workshops and information on how to access festival content will be available beginning Sept. 1.
- Donations are requested to benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern N.C. to assist our community with COVID-19 relief.
This year, top films (selected by the film jury) will screen Sunday, Sept. 27, in the “Best of BEYOND” from 11:30 a.m.-11:45 p.m. Check our website for the complete schedule and full details.
