Dr. Kathleen Welsh-Bohmer, Professor of Psychology & Neurology,

Duke University Medical Center

  Dr. Colton is an Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation Harrington Scholar and an Alzheimer’s Association Zenith Fellow. Recently, Dr. Colton has begun to apply their research to clinical treatment for Alzheimer’s disease in humans. Dr. Welsh-Bohmer oversees over 200 psychologist at the Joseph and Kathleen Bryan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at Duke. Dr. Welsh-Bohmer and her team have actively designed programs to aid both persons with AD and their caregivers.   SPECIAL GUEST: Mark Hensley with the NC Division of Aging & Adult Services for NC Dept. of Health & Human Services and Director of “Project C.A.R.E.” (Caregiver Alternatives to Running on Empty) Rotarian, Rick Carnagua, District 7710 C.A.R.T. Chairman, will deliver an update on C.A.R.T.   **No cost for admission; attendees will have the opportunity to contribute to C.A.R.T.
