What begins as a seemingly spontaneous family journey gradually reveals deeper layers of both grief and resilience, as Ella starts to sense that her father’s intentions may be masking a more profound truth. Director Cole Webley, in his feature directorial debut, captures the universal journey of a father who deeply loves his children but is uncertain about the best way to navigate the challenges they face. Through the family’s road trip across the American West, the film explores the complexities of love, responsibility, and the search for meaning in the face of hardship. For TICKET information, including Will Call & Mobile tickets, please click here.
“With groups like The Barefoot Movement on the scene, the future of bluegrass is in safe hands.”— The Daily CountrySince 2011, progressive acoustic band The Barefoot Movement has been recording and touring internationally, winning the 2014 IBMA Momentum Award, and releasing four studio albums as well as a live album, a holiday album, two EP’s, and a covers collection. The brainchild of husband and wife Tommy Norris and Noah Wall, the “movement” features fiddle, mandolin, guitar, upright bass and sometimes drums, supporting soaring vocals on tunes that range in style from traditional Americana to acoustic pop. Their most recent release, 2024’s “Let It Out,” finds the group exploring new musical territory, while still standing firmly on their barefoot foundation, made up of lush harmonies, thoughtful instrumentation, and memorable melodies. “‘Let It Out’ is about acknowledging your challenges so that you can get through them”, explains Wall, “And it pertains to a lot of what we’ve been going through as a band and as people, not only being vulnerable personally but also musically, allowing ourselves to explore the rock and roll influences we’ve been hesitant to let show prior to this album.” Throughout each incarnation of the band, Noah’s singing, songwriting, and fiddle playing serve as the backbone, while Tommy Norris’s mandolin skills supply musical dexterity to their sound. Current guitarist Ben Howington and rotating upright bassists and drummers round out their unique blend of charming, modern roots music. Their energetic, joyous, and heartfelt performances have garnered them fans nationwide and beyond, as far away as Burkina Faso, Africa and as close to home as their native Granville County, NC.90 minutes without an intermission For TICKET information, including Will Call & Mobile tickets, please click here.
"Though Sumner has roots in both the bluegrass and classical worlds, this is true-blue singer-songwriter folk through and through, too: achingly clear, and wide open to the world, with twang and tenderness enough to carry us through the fire of an unusually difficult year" - Cover Lay DownRachel may be best known as the former guitarist and singer-songwriter from bluegrass string phenom Twisted Pine, but it is in her recent venture as a solo artist that we are beginning to fully recognize her dynamism as a writer and performer. Whether she’s fronting her new band of lush, low-voiced strings or appearing with only a guitar, you’ll be mesmerized by her elegantly intricate arrangements and captivated by the delivery of each and every word. Rachel is both a Willie Nelson and a Patsy Cline of indie-folk-writing the heartfelt but catchy songs and conveying their emotional complexity with candor and an achingly beautiful yodel. It is her diverse love of pop, classical, country and everything in between that she draws upon to synthesize into her own unique sound.
