The Cary Theater is happy to give back to our community through a program that supports local non-profits in Cary.
The Cary staff will identify a film screening each quarter and designate it as The Cary Gives Back day. This film will be chosen based on the film and the distribution rights arrangement. Some distribution agreements are not conducive to this program. The Cary Gives Back Days will be held four times each year.
Non-profit, Cary-based charities can apply to be considered as the partner non-profit for the quarter. The non-profit group (along with The Cary) will promote the film as The Cary Gives back day. Regular ticket prices will be charged. At the end of the film, 40% of that screening’s proceeds will be donated to the non-profit.
Applications will be accepted from groups and recommendations on the groups selected for the year will be made by a committee of community members.
Criteria for selection include:
- Applying organizations must be Cary-based non-profits (501 (c) 3) with a federal tax identification number; priority will be given to groups not currently receiving funding from the Town of Cary.
- Groups may apply in one of the following categories: arts, social outreach/action groups, multi-cultural, and environmental.
- Applying organizations must completely articulate what the funds will be used to support.
- Applying organizations must have the ability to adequately promote this event to bring in attendees.
Applications for 2021 will be accepted through October 15, 2020.
